Goodjustice Nears 2026 Goal of Building 70 Homes for Families in Malawi, Africa

45 homes completed and 10 more under construction as nonprofit works to provide safe, secure housing for vulnerable families

FOUNTAIN INN, S.C., Oct. 7, 2026 — Goodjustice, a South Carolina-based nonprofit working alongside communities in Honduras and Malawi, Africa, is nearing its 2026 goal of building 70 homes for vulnerable families in Malawi through its Good Homes program.

So far this year, Goodjustice has completed 45 homes, with 10 additional homes currently under construction. Once those homes are finished, 55 families will have received safe, secure housing in 2026, leaving just 15 homes remaining to reach the organization's annual goal.

At a cost of approximately $400 per home, Goodjustice needs $6,000 to fund the final 15 homes.

“Every time we build a home, we are doing much more than putting up walls and a roof,” said Jeffrey Ryal, founder and president of Goodjustice. “We are helping give a family safety, dignity and stability. When you stand with a mother or grandmother who no longer has to worry about where her children will sleep when the rains come, you understand what $400 can really mean. We have 15 homes left to reach our goal this year, and we believe there are people who will help us finish what we started.”

A Home Can Change a Family's Future

Goodjustice's Good Homes program focuses on families living in vulnerable housing conditions in rural Malawi, with particular attention given to women-led households, widows, single mothers, grandmothers caring for children, and other families facing significant hardship.

The homes are intentionally simple, durable and locally appropriate. By working with local leadership, labor and suppliers, Goodjustice is able to build a home for approximately $400.

The impact extends beyond shelter.

A secure home gives families greater protection from severe weather, improves safety and provides a more stable environment for children. For families who have lived in deteriorating or inadequate structures, receiving a home can provide a foundation for greater stability and hope for the future.

Goodjustice has been building homes in Malawi since 2015 and has now provided more than 200 homes for families in need.

“Our goal isn't to come into a community and decide what people need,” Ryal said. “We listen to local leaders and families, and we work together on solutions that make sense for their community. Good Homes is a beautiful example of what can happen when people come together to do good in a practical and sustainable way.”

15 Homes to Go

With 45 homes completed and another 10 underway, Goodjustice is inviting individuals, churches, businesses and community organizations to help provide the remaining 15 homes needed to reach the 2026 goal of 70.

A gift of $400 provides an entire home for a family, while gifts of any amount can be combined to fund additional homes.

“Seventy homes means 70 families entering a new year with something many of us take for granted — a safe place to call home,” Ryal said. “We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped us get this far. Now we're inviting others to help us finish the final 15.”
